According to the builder's stone in the southwest corner, the "old" Yoakum County Courthouse was constructed in 1927; in Plains, Texas

The "old" Yoakum County Courthouse (the new one is a block to the east) was constructed in 1927. A concrete marker incorporated into the brick building gives this date and the names of the county officials of that time.
