Robert Goddard built and launched the world's first liquid-fueled rocket and was a pioneer in the field even though his work was often ridiculed. He is recognized and honored today as one of the most important founders of modern rocketry. This larger-than-life bronze statue shows Goddard about to launch a rocket. Nearby is one of his original rocket towers.
