15 July 2020 at 21:49:19 CDST the ISS reached an altitude of 87° and a magnitude of -3.8 over Bethany, Oklahoma.
At 21:50:22 CDST it reached an altitude of 71° and a magnitude of -3.9 over Olathe, Kansas, 291 miles from Bethany.
At 22:52:25 EDST it reached an altitude of 86° and a magnitude of -3.9 over Holland, Michigan, 568 miles from Olathe.
At 22:54:28 EDST it reached an altitude of 70° and a magnitude of -3.5 over Ottawa. The ISS took 5 minutes and 9 seconds, covering 1426 miles to get to Ottawa, 568 miles from Holland.
Hoping to catch Comet Neowise, I headed out early to feed the mosquitoes. This also gave me a chance to complete the required paperwork before the ISS arrived. The cloud cover was thin. I followed the ISS for more than six minutes, losing sight near the horizon. It was an interesting pair of viewings: fuzzy natural object versus moving bright artificial star.
The reduced aircraft traffic is noticeable.
