Roads approach the Boulder Mountain Repeater both from near Jefferson City to the north and from Boulder to the south. Both roads are dirt, and not well maintained. The building housing the repeater was built to withstand a nuclear blast aimed at Montana's capital city, Helena, roughly 40 miles to the north. Views from the repeater site are worth the visit as you look out over the Boulder Valley to the south or a mine and reservoir to the north.
