I 1982 blev kunstneren Carl Henning Pedersen valgt til at skulle udsmykke Ribe Domkirke. Domkriken er en af de ældste kirker i Danmark, fra omkring 1100.
Valget af Carl Henning Pedersen gav mange protester fra befolkningen, da han var en moderne ekspressionistisk kunstner.
I 1983 påbegyndte Carl-Henning Pedersen det 5 år lange arbejde med kalkmalerier, mosaikker og glasmalerier til Ribe Domkirke.


In 1982, the artist Carl Henning Pedersen was chosen to decorate Ribe Cathedral. The cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Denmark, from around 1100.
The election of Carl Henning Pedersen provoked many protests from the population as he was a modern expressionist artist.
In 1983, Carl-Henning Pedersen began the 5-year work with frescoes, mosaics and stained glass windows for Ribe Cathedral.
There are 5 windows. The church is being renovated and 2 stained glass windows can be seen at the moument. "The Blue Legend" and "From Earth to Heaven"
