The lychgate of St Mary's church forms the main entrance to the churchyard of St Mary's church. The construction is primarily of timber with a tiled roof and is set upon low brick walls. The main timbers are curved and, being at the sides of the lychgate, allow easy access from the High Street into the church grounds. A pait of wrought iron gates protect the lychgate from the High Street and the arch design is incorporated into the gates. The plan view of the lych is square.
