"Al & Bud's Platter, a restaurant owned by Mr. and Mrs. Al Nahas and Mr. & Mrs. Hollis K. (Bud) Sheely, will open at 21st Street and Broadway by next weekend. Specializing in pancakes and charcoal broiled steaks and hamburgers, the restaurant will accommodate 140 persons at counters and in booths. Parking space will be available for about 75 cars. Nahas said the restaurant will feature 24 hour service. The concrete block and stucco building was design by Architect Sooky Lee and built by John Otto. Bee photo"

In the late 1960s early 1970s Mr. and Mrs. Al Nahas wanted out of the business and the Sheely's bought them out and then changed the name to Pancake Parade to go along with the locations they owend at 30th & J and 10345 Folsom Blvd.

It wasnt until the last 1970s or early 1980s that the Sheely family sold the iconic Pancake establishment and the name was changed to Pancake Circus which it has remained to this day.

Not much has changed on this iconic building since the original opening. The interior decor and the extieior style have remained relativelt the same, giving you that 60s vibe when you walk in the door." (visit link)
