Located at 5,391 feet above sea level, the former AT&T Microwave tower and Qwest Communications owned building is also home to an Amateur Radio Repeater operated by the Mac Pass Repeater Group based in Helena, Montana, call sign WR7HLN. The road to the site is behind a locked Forest Service gate near the popular Pattee Canyon Recreation Area east of Missoula, Montana. The road is favored by mountain joggers and hikers. As of today, July 8th, 2020, the analog/digital radio equipment has been replaced by Motorola digital equipment and the analog repeater is no longer functional.
