Inscription on the plaque:

Erected to the memory of

Father William H. Judge, S.J.

Following the miners from Forty Mile to
Dawson in 1897, he built the first hospital,
with cooperation of all the citizens.
Being full of charity, he devoted himself
so unselfishly to the sick and dying that
he passed away on January 16, 1899, at the
age of 48. He is buried in Dawson at the
place where he built the first hospital
and the first church in the Klondike.
