All that remains of what once was a homestead here in WPSP is two concrete ponds formed around a natural spring to hold back water.

The shed above the spring has recently been replaced. The rock above the spring is flat, and likely placed there above the little concrete pool where the water seeps up to be used as a table of sorts. There are another concrete wall about eight feet away that would have served as a dam to form a larger pool for the laundry and bathing area, and just lower than the first pool. I would assume if you were doing laundry or bathing you don't want soapy or dirty water in your clean source. That second pool is full of mud and rock, but being in a State Park I don't think a clean-out would be an option. I did spook a deer bedded down in the bushes above the wash shed. The wall that forms the little dam has two pvc pipes placed on top for filling canteens with drinking water.
