A warning siren is located next to the parking lot for the free Arcadia Lake Spring Creek Trail. It is at the east end of 15th St. just before the attended access gate. The gate just to the northeast will allow you into the lake area (which does has a fee).
I have been at the lake when this siren went off, and there is no way to not hear it! According to the city's website, it will be activated when there is a high wind warning for the lake, or a severe thunderstorm is approaching. This is a popular lake for boating, so a warning siren is a necessity here.
The outdoor warning device is tested on the first Saturday of each month at noon, except when the possibility of severe weather is present.
