Les foulons la fabriquaient des draps, et étaient nombreux à Rennes, à proximité de bras du fleuve, fournissant l'eau utilisée pour faire tourner les moulins à foulon qui servaient à battre la laine tissée. Mais c’est dans cette rue qu’ils habitaient. "
