Dr. Webb is buried in his family's plot, and those are likely his parents, Wade and Catherine Webb, next to him. There's not much information to be found about him, but he or his family -- or both -- must have been of some means to afford this marble obelisk. Interesting to note is the name "J.H. Webb, Itasca" on a list of medical students from Tulane University in Louisiana on a 1901 appeal to the State of Texas to pass legislation requiring that doctors really be doctors and be certified as such. If this is the same J.H. Webb, unfortunately, he only lived another couple of years.
The obelisk shaft is covered by funeral draping, and the family name, "Webb", is on the plinth. There is text on but one side of the base, but note the initial "W" at the top on each side. The inscription is lengthy, and it reads:

May 19, 1903.

A place is vacant in our home
