A lychgate with a clock at Holy Trinity church, Clifton.
A plaque below the clock reads:
To the Glory of God and in memory of
John Herbert Smith
this clock was given by F. Clifton Smith
to Holy Trinity church, Sep.21, 1924.
The church was built by H.I. Stevens in 1845. The apse and bell tower were added later by Slater & Carpenter in 1868. Its lychgate is quite special - presumably also designed by Stevens, with its own little tower and bellcote, topped with a small wooden spire.
