In the old community of Beaverbrook, many parks are more about preserving nature rather than promoting recreation. For the most part, Gow Park is a green space with lighted paths connecting Leacock Drive, Beaverbrook Road, Kingsford Crescent and Sandwell Crescent. Gow Park does include a soccer field (posted co-ordinates). Gow Park surrounds the yard of Stephen Leacock Public School, the first school in the Beaverbrook community. The old Beaverbrook community park signs can still be seen.
