This is a really nice place in the heart of downtown Spearfish, great for dinner and a beer or two before or after enjoying all the shops. They brew both lagers and ales, including a bock, a pilsner, the hoppy stuff like pales and IPAs, a few sours, some light offerings like a helles and a kolsch, all told over a dozen choices with some seasonal offerings. They even have kombucha made locally: Ask one of the brewers why brewing that stuff in-house is a very bad idea. The menu is over the bar and they'll give you a paper copy upon request. Most of the seating is at the bar and in the bar area, but there are a few tables, and some patio seating outside.

Their food menu is fairly limited, with a few appetizers (including chislic), burgers, wings, mac 'n' cheese, and some offerings for the kids. It's all good stuff, and their beer pairs well with those burgers. Be aware that the kitchen closes down at 8:45 PM.

Keep your eye on their Facebook page, reachable through the website, for the latest information on possible extended hours and events, which include trivia, beer and food pairing dinners, fundraisers, and live music.
