NRHP Nomination Form

"This 1-story brick building is the east section of the Pflugerville Mercantile Building, a survivor of the July, 1971 fire which destroyed all of the buildings to the west. The original building (or buildings) was composed of six bays of the same height, with a similar brick parapet and storefronts, allowing this remaining portion of the block to retain enough integrity to contribute to the significance of the district. Like the adjacent pharmacy to the east, the mercantile is a relatively tall single-story building, with high ceilings and a large percentage of the primary fa9ade filled with windows. The building lacks the ornament of its neighbors, but is nevertheless a handsome property, with an intact storefront reflecting common tum-of-the-century design solutions for urban and small-town retail establishments."
