Long Description:
Medieval carved wooden bench ends in St Andrew's church, Barningham.
Most of the figures are animals, although there are also mythical creatures. It is not unusual with medieval carvings of this type to find at least one joke at the expense of the clerisy made by the artist, and here there is a carving of a pig in the pulpit.
Look out for the the camel and the disabled man. The church guide notes that whoever carved the camel can never have seen one - they gave it cloven hooves.
