There are four Penny Smashers located in the entrance plaza at the San Francisco Zoo. From left to right they are:
• the Lemur Penny Smasher
• the Lion Cub Penny Smasher
• the Giraffe Penny Smasher
• and the generic San Francisco Zoo Penny Smasher
I believe you can visit these penny smashers for free. Simply walk between the ticket windows and the gift store – the penny smashers will be located on your right. (Zoo entry tickets are checked at the kiosk up the incline.)
In case you’re interested in visiting the zoo, current admission prices are:

There is a $5.00 parking fee to park in the zoo's main parking lot.
