Veteran memorial railroad operates a 2 foot gauge railroad. It has 3 locomotives, 2 powered by internal combustion engines and a steam locomotive, the only coal burning steam locomotive in operation in Florida, 2 foot gauge and up. The locomotive was built by Crown for a park in South Florida. After abandonment, it was rescued by a private party, rebuilt to operating condition and sold to Veteran Memorial Railroad in the early 2000s. VMR has operated it since then. As of 2020, it is undergoing a boiler inspection. Furthermore, the park where the trains operate was destroyed by a hurricane in 2019. It is now slowly rebuilding.
