EN: This fountain is located on Sonnhaldenweg in the north of Biel-Benken.
The long limestone fountain trough is dated 1859. Due to the inclination of the street, it is underlaid with a stone foundation on the south side. Instead of the usual stone pillar, this fountain has a simple metal tube that comes from the slope in the backside.
The fountain is right next to a water reservoir that I would classify in the 1980s. The location, the stylistically not very suitable foundation and the lack of a fountain pillar suggest that this fountain trough was only moved to its current location a few years ago.

Der lange Brunnentrog aus Kalkstein ist mit 1859 datiert. Aufgrund der Neigung der Strasse ist er auf der Südseite mit einem Steinfundament unterlegt. Statt der üblichen Brunnensäule aus Stein hat dieser Brunnen eine einfache Metallröhre, die aus dem rückseiteigen Abhang kommt.
Der Brunnen steht direkt neben einem Wasserreservoir, das ich in die 1980er Jahre einordnen würde. Der Standort, das stilistisch nicht sehr passende Fundament und die fehlende Brunnenröhre lassen vermuten, dass dieser Brunnentrog erst vor ein paar Jahren an seinen heutigen Standort verlegt wurde.
