Now known as Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery, this cemetery was established in 1894 with the burial of the town sheriff, on a hill side that already had grave markers dating back to 1883. A brief history of the cemetery is given on a historical marker at the gazebo near the center of the cemetery. Many prominent citizens of Canadian are interred here, including many of the Hemphill County judges.
