An old tractor in the yard of the automobile museum "Les Brigades de l'Aa". This tractor dates from 1957, it is a Vendeuvre AS500, it is undergoing renovation, to be exhibited in the museum.

The Engine "The engine fitted to the tractor is a single-cylinder operating according to the four-stroke cycle: a driving impulse for two crankshaft revolutions.

The Chassis The engine and the rear axle gearbox are connected by the clutch housing. The whole forms a rigid unit which acts as a chassis.

In addition to the conventional traction arrangement, the rear of the tractor has a power take-off for the control of agricultural implements and a threshing pulley. This tractor is equipped with a mower power take-off.

The gearbox has five forward gears and one reverse allowing it to adjust the speed exactly to the type of work accomplished.

The transmission of engine torque to the rear axle is effected by means of a dry-running single-disc clutch controlled by a pedal.

The tractor has favorable attachment points for the towing of charms and other agricultural implements and can be supplied with a hydraulic three-point hitch lift. "

Vendeuvre (business) "Established in Vendeuvre-sur-Barse in 1837, the mechanical engineering establishments of Vendeuvre were initially called Protte establishments, after the name of the founder Jean-Baptiste Protte. They then manufactured threshing equipment.

A few steam engines and locomobiles later, the company produced individual threshing machines with petrol engines at the start of the 20th century. The first tractor equipped with the Diesel engine was produced in 1952.

In 1958, the company was bought by Allis-Chalmers. The brand was registered again on June 1, 2018 by the company 2 SI PROD.

Un vieux tracteur dans la cour du musée automobile "Les Brigades de l'Aa". Ce tracteur date de 1957, c'est un Vendeuvre AS500, il est en instance de rénovation, pour être exposé dans le musée.

Le Moteur "Le moteur équipant le tracteur est un monocÿlindre fonctionnant suivant le cycle à quatretemps : une impulsion motrice pour deux tours de vilebrequin.

Le Chassis Le moteur et la boîte de vitesses-pont arrière sont reliés par le carter d'embrayage. Le tout forme un ensemble rigide qui joue le rôle de châssis.

En plus de la disposition classique de traction l'arrière du tracteur comporte une prise de force pour la commande d‘instruments agricoles et une poulie de battage. Ce tracteur est équipé d’une prise de mouvement de faucheuse.

La boite de vitesses a cinq marches avant et une marche arrière lui permettant d'adapter exactement à pleine puissance l‘allure au genre de travail accompli.

La transmission du couple moteur au pont arriére s’effectue au moyen d'un embrayage mono-disque fonctionnant à sec et commandé par pédale.

Le tracteur dispose de points d'attache favorables pour la remorque de charmes et autres instruments agricoles et peut être livré avec relevage hydraulique attelage trois points."
