"Le terrain où est construit l'actuel hôtel de ville appartenait jadis à Monsieur Georges Baby. Ce dernier légua sa maison dans laquelle une école sera aménagée. Les Soeurs de la Providence y enseignaient aux jeunes garçons de moins de douze ans. La résidence fut agrandie et divisée en douze classes. La maison de Georges Baby fut démolie et l'immeuble actuel construit en 1938, accueillait environ 340 garçons. Ce n'est qu'en 1971 que les bureaux de l'hôtel de ville y furent aménagés.
L'hôtel de ville s'élève sur trois étages. Cependant, le grand nombre de fenêtres verticales très étroites laissent croire qu'il en compte davantage. De plus, la grandeur des fenêtres qui surplombent le deuxième et le troisième étage accroît cet effet. Un accent est mis sur la façade par l'insertion de panneaux d'aluminium qui lui confèrent un aspect très contemporain. Les fenêtres, identiques à celles des autres faces du bâtiment, assurent une continuité et donnent un air moderne au bâtiment. L'ajout d'un auvent à l'entrée rend l'édifice plus accueillant et brise la tendance rectiligne. Le style général du bâtiment sied très bien à sa fonction."

The town hall rises on three floors. However, the large number of very narrow vertical windows suggests that there are more. In addition, the size of the windows overlooking the second and third floors increases this effect. An accent is put on the facade by the insertion of aluminum panels which give it a very contemporary appearance. The windows, identical to those on the other sides of the building, provide continuity and give the building a modern air. The addition of an awning at the entrance makes the building more welcoming and breaks the rectilinear trend. The general style of the building suits its purpose very well. "
