Rood screen and dado in St Nicholas' church, Potter Heigham. The screen dates from the 15th century. The figures are of the four Evangelists (St Mark holds pet lion) and the four Latin Doctors (St Jerome in a cardinal's hat) and have pride of place. A rare survival, that of St Eligius, the patron Saint of farriers, holds a hammer and a staff.
Above the chancel arch there are still the outlines of the group of figures of the Blessed Virgin and St John which flanked the rood. The cross there now is modern.
