The Marian Columns were built in Bohemia and Moravia often as commemorative columns, as a reminder of the tragic events, especially the wars and the plague epidemics.

The chronograms are located on the pedestal of the Marian Column. The Roman numerals of chronograms are larger than the other letters and are not color-coded from the rest of the text.

Hosteradickému námestí dominuje mohutný barokní mariánský sloup z roku 1728 od trebícského sochare Štepána Pagana. Na vrcholu vysokého kamenného sloupu je osazena skulptura Madony s žezlem a žehnajícím Ježíškem v nárucí, stojící na pulmesíci obtoceném hadem s jablkem v tlame. V rozích kamenného zábradlí kolem sloupu stojí ctverice sveteckých soch, znázornujících sv. Josefa (pestouna Páne), sv. Jáchyma (otce Panny Marie), sv. Šebestiána (morového patrona) a sv. Urbana (patrona vinaru). Na soklu je ješte reliéf svaté poustevnice Rozálie (další morové patronky) v jeskyni, ale ten je bohužel v soucasné dobe témer úplne znicený.
