Jean René Constant Quoy est un chirurgien de marine, anatomiste, ornithologue et zoologiste français, né le 10 novembre 1790 à Maillé, près de Maillezais, et mort le 4 juillet 1869 à Rochefort.
Il part à nouveau à bord de L’Astrolabe sous le commandement de Jules Dumont d'Urville. Son deuxième voyage autour du monde débute le 25 avril 1826 pour s’achever en 1829.
De 1837 à 1840, elle effectue sa troisième circumnavigation en constituant avec le transport La Zélée la flottille de l'expédition Dumont d'Urville dans l'Antarctique qui permet la découverte de la Terre Adélie en Antartique.
Jean René Constant Quoy is a French marine surgeon, anatomist, ornithologist and zoologist, born November 10, 1790 in Maillé, near Maillezais, and died July 4, 1869 in Rochefort.
He left again on board the Astrolabe under the command of Jules Dumont d'Urville. His second trip around the world began on April 25, 1826 and ended in 1829.
From 1837 to 1840, she carried out her third circumnavigation by constituting with the transport La Zélée the flotilla of the Dumont d'Urville expedition in Antarctica which allowed the discovery of Adélie Land in Antarctica
