This theater was owned by a woman called "Giggles" for over 40 years, and she kept it a move theater...then the big guys moved in and about 20 years ago (2000) a new woman bought the place...she just sold it...her comment:
"Hello all you lovely people, hope you are taking care, with everything going on will have to inform you this way. I sold
The Belle Starr Theatre (very unexpectedly). I have owned it a little over 20 years. I am very thankful for all this time &
the much support of many of you, that I consider dear friends..The new owner will continue to operate
(when timely) Sending Blessings & love to all."
"I also miss the movies but due to many changes it would have cost me $70,000 to get in new equipment, then the
smaller theaters were not considered first run, so I could not get the movies in a timely manner. I also wish it could
have been different, I think it is dated 1924 as a theater. It has been wonderful having the privilege to own it."
"Opened as the Vita Theatre in the mid-1920’s. This small town theatre located in the town centre. It now serves the populus and the college crowd with live performances." ~ Cinema Treasures
