"As more and more things start to get back to normal, airports are getting ready for a spike in travelers.

At the Albuquerque International Sunport, travel restrictions are still in place, but there are some new exceptions.

“For now, we are bracing for a variety of situations,” Johnathan Small, the Sunport marketing manager, said.

Many cities have loosened their public health orders.

“In any case, we want New Mexicans to know that when they are ready, we are ready for them,” Small said.

The Sunport is doing everything it can to make sure travelers' trips to and from Albuquerque are safe.

“We’re doing everything we can to mitigate the spread of the virus, while adhering to CDC and state guidelines,” Small said.

They’ve emphasized seat spacing and added plexiglass, but before you hop on the next flight out there are some things you need to know. Health leaders still advise you to quarantine for at least 14 days or the duration of your stay once you touch down.

The exception is if you are here for business.

“The self-quarantine order does not apply to persons employed by airlines, those performing public safety or public health functions, military personal, federal employees, those employed by a federal agency or national defense contractor, those required to be here by court order or those here to conduct business,” Small said.

The best advice they said is to still avoid traveling out of town if you can help it." (visit link)
