Émile Brunet est né à Huntington, en 1893. Il entre au Conseil des Arts et manufactures en 1909. En 1916, il conçoit une grande partie du programme ornemental de la façade du nouveau parlement canadien. En 1924, il poursuit ses études à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Au cours des années qui suivirent, les commandes de monuments commémoratifs vont affluer. Le sculpteur laisse plus de 200 monuments partout au Canada.

Émile Brunet was born in Huntington, in 1893. He joined the Arts and Manufacturing Council in 1909. In 1916, he designed a large part of the ornamental program for the facade of the new Canadian parliament. In 1924, he continued his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In the years that followed, orders for memorials were poured in. The sculptor leaves more than 200 monuments across Canada.
