Holy Trinity columns are popular all over Czech Republic and Slovakia, and Brno is no exception in having one. This one sits at the northern end of the Cabbage Market.
Originally a marketplace known as the Upper Market, this already served as a market in the 13th century, when poultry markets, pottery and second-hand markets, and others were active here. From the 15th century it has been called the Cabbage (or Vegetable Market) [CZ: Zelný trh].
At the top of the pillar there is a sculpture of the Holy Trinity, on the sides there are statues of the Immaculate Conception and St. Jan Nepomucký and the composition is completed by two angels. Near the column there is also a statue of St. Primitives and St. Constantine
The year 1731 from the chronogram referring (probably) to erection of the statue. The column was erected in 1729.

Sloup Nejsvetejší Trojice na Zelném trhu v Brne byl postaven v roce 1729 v horní cásti námestí.
Autorem vrcholne barokního sloupu Nejsvetejší Trojice je Antonín Schweigl, otec významného architekta Ondreje Schweigla. Sloup se skládá z podstavce a pilíre, který z podstavce vystupuje. Na vrcholu pilíre se nachází sousoší Nejsvetejší Trojice, po stranách se pak nachází sochy Immaculaty a sv. Jana Nepomuckého a kompozici doplnují dva andílci. V blízkosti sloupu se nachází ješte sochy sv. Primitiva a sv. Konstantina, které jsou postaveny na vlastních podstavcích.
