Clarence Maheral Park is named for the first president of the Kanata-Hazeldean Lions Club. The club hall is on site. Back in the late 1970s, the club building was also home to the post office and public library.
Originally, this green space was two parks. The park near the Lions hall was named Lions Park, access from Castlefrank. The north part of the park was Pumphouse Park, access from Old Colony Road. The posted co-ordinates represent the site of that long gone pumphouse.
There is a large baseball park. There are four soccer fields. The two soccer fields on the west side can be combined to form a regulation size field. The soccer field in the east was originally a baseball diamond in the '70s.
