En St Gelais was bishop of Poitiers towards the end of the 4th century. In 1109, Raoul de Lusignan dedicated a priory to Saint Gelais and gave this name to his elder Hughes: family of diplomats, humorists and reformers who died in the 18th.
Fr St Gelais fut évêque de Poitiers vers la fin du 4ème siècle. En 1109, Raoul de Lusignan dédia un prieuré à saint Gelais et donna ce nom à son aîné Hughes : famille de diplomates, d'humoristes et de réformés qui s'éteignit au 18ème.
