Located in the Wild Turkey Strand Preserve is the Gunner's Trail. The Gunner's Trail is 1.8 miles in length with 0.7 miles of it being ADA accessible. On the ADA accessible portion of the trail is a raised non-coastal boardwalk. This boardwalk section, approximately 200 feet in length, is elevated above a low-lying marsh like savanna area. It give a clear view of the elevated pine and palmetto "islands" surrounding it. It also provides ADA access to the wildlife viewing platform further along the trail.
The remaining portion of the Gunner's Trail is not ADA accessible and is under water during the rainy season. It includes two additional boardwalk sections crossing the deeper areas of the trail.
