St Martin's Church is located on Lake Road in the centre of the town of Bowness-on-Windermere.
It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Windermere, the archdeaconry of Westmorland and Furness, and the diocese of Carlisle.
The church is a Grade I listed building. (visit link)

In 1870 the church was restored by the Lancaster architects Paley and Austin. The benefactors at this time included the local industrialist and politician Henry Schneider. Paley and Austin raised the tower to which they added a saddleback roof.

The clock is mounted on the lower section of the tower. It has a circular stone face set into a square stone surround. The face of the clock is edged in a gold band with gold minute markers. It has gold roman numerals and decorative gold hands.

OPENING TIMES
The church is open most weekday mornings though the year 9.30am to 1pm.
Between Palm Sunday and the end of September we are open 9.30am to 3.30pm seven days a week (except for weddings, funerals and regular services).
