The World of Beatrix Potter, is an attraction in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere that is devoted to the tales that were created by the Lake District’s children’s author - Beatrix Potter.
At the entrance to the attraction you can watch a short film about the life and works of Beatrix Potter. There is an artificial woodland trail to walk through, that has 3D characters from Beatrix Potter’s books.
All of the favourite characters can be seen here. They include Mr. Jeremy Fisher navigating a pond on a lily pad, Peter Rabbit and his siblings and Jemina Puddle-Duck.
There are 360 degree views of landscapes that inspired Beatrix Potter in the virtual walk, with a large touchscreen table that includes activities for children to complete.
There is a garden outside filled with herbs, flowers, and vegetables, just as Mr. McGregor intended.
An activity booklet for children to complete is included in the ticket price.
The attraction is fully accessible and has a large tea room with family friendly facilities serving hot and cold lunches.
There is also a gift shop that features a range of Beatrix Potter merchandise including toys, china, and keepsakes.
