The final resting place of John Bent Durham is at the west side of Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. The cemetery is just feet away from the Tennessee border. John shares an upright marker with his spouse Bertha, who died eleven years after he did. They had two sons and five daughters.

The Woodmen of the World symbol is on a modern marker, an upright double headstone with an angel sculpture on one side and a vase in the middle.
