My Commentary: Blair House, next door, was replaced by the current Municipal Building in 1972. This building is brick, one-story, with the entrance on the west side. The Name "Washington Municipal Building" appears on the north facade mostly hidden by shrubbery. This building houses both the city offices and the Police Department. The only signage for the Police Department is paper and on the door.

The management philosophy of teamwork, accountability and communication drives our department as we work in partnership with our citizens and community organizations to maintain and enhance our quality of life in Washington.

I am extremely proud to serve as Chief of Police and work side by side with the outstanding members of this department in serving our community. Please take some time to browse through our site and we encourage you to participate with us in various events throughout the year.

Please don’t hesitate to take a moment to say hello to the members of the department when you see us out and about. We enjoy opportunities to talk about our work and may even have a Junior Police Officer sticker to share with those future WPD officers.

Type: Main Office (HQ Building)

Visit Instructions:
To log a visit, you must post a photo of you in front of the building described, with your GPS in the photo. No drive by photos.

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
