Dansk: Harald Giersing fandt sit motiv til Landevej til Svanninge omtrent her. Han var i 1917 blevet gift med Fritz Sybergs datter Besse, og det unge par havde fået Poppelhuset i Svanninge i bryllupsgave af Syberg. Harold Giersing malede flere malerier med motiver fra landskabet omkring Svanninge. Han var optaget af, hvordan vejens forløb og træernes kroner danner næsten geometriske former. Maleriet tilhører Faaborg Museum.
English: Harald Giersing found his motive for the Road to Swanninge around here. In 1917 he had married Fritz Syberg's daughter Besse, and the young couple had been given the Poppelhuset in Svanninge in a wedding gift by Syberg. Harold Giersing painted several paintings with motifs from the landscape around Svanninge. He was concerned with how the course of the road and the crowns of the trees form almost geometric shapes. The painting belongs to the Faaborg Museum.
