Located next to the unique Crystal Palace, the Barn Art quilt block is a new addition to the ever-growing Prince Edward County Quilt Art tour. There are well over 100 blocks located throughout the County. The vast majority are easily viewable from street and roadside vantage points.
This piece was specially commissioned in 2017 to commemorate the 225th Anniversary of Prince Edward County. The back of the piece features an informative marker giving the breakdown of the piece in exquisite detail.
Of note is the Friendship Star painted on the Red Barn. This recognizes the indigenous peoples who called the County home and who now now reside adjacent to the County in Tyendinaga Teritory. The Purple and white colours are symbolic of the Tyendinaga First Nations.
The art is accessible off Main Street (CR 49) in Picton.
