Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Hydrant - Ardmore, OK - Painted Hydrants on Waymarking.com

Not long ago, this was a silver hydrant with an orange cap. In 2019, Create Ardmore and the Ardmore Fire Department worked together on a beautification effort in which fire hydrants in the downtown Cultural Arts District -- a comparatively small number compared to the over 1600 hydrants that the Ardmore FD has to maintain throughout the area! -- would be given the glamour treatment. As the Ardmore FD requires that the hydrants have a specific color cap -- red, orange, green or blue -- to indicate how much water pressure each tank has behind it, they did the priming work, leaving local volunteers to use their imaginations and minimal guidelines in the effort.

The orange cap is now green, like most of the hydrant, including the chains. The hydrant's breaker ring is Raphael's belt, painted gray with a yellow buckle and his initial, "R", in black. The plastron is a cream color, and his two signature sais are on each side. His eyes show through his red bandanna (tied in the back), and those red rings in front of the outlet caps look to be armbands. His open mouth with a bit of his tongue showing is on the front outlet cap. His brown-green carapace covers most of the reverse, and like the plastron, extends below the breaker ring.
