Horses at Turning Point Therapeudic Riding were up to their bellies in water when the nearby creek overflowed after a rain. The horses were moved to another property while the owners waited for the water to recede.

A therapy riding center in Stillwater is underwater, forcing nearly a dozen horses to escape the property after floodwaters were up to the animals' bellies.
"It was at least a good 5 feet before it started receding," said Rachel Royston, with Theraputic Riding Center in Stillwater. "The great thing about them, none of them were panicked. None of them were distressed."
The 222-acre property is on a floodplain, but Royston said Stillwater Creek has never dumped this much water. Nine horses were corralled and moved to safer grounds while the staff assessed the damage.
"We lost about $500 worth of hay," Royston said.
She and the riding center are bracing for another downpour.
"It's hard to tell (if there's damage) until all the water goes away," Royston said.
It could take weeks or months before the horses are able to return.
