This plaque is located on Barrington Street, across from Spring Garden Road. Survey markers are present on each side of the plaque which informs the public about the presence of the former Military Headquarters at this location.

The former residence of Robert Noble (1792-1872)
a Halifax merchant, on this site was Head-
Quarters for Imperial Forces from 1906 to 1917 and continued
as military pay office from 1920 to 1927. These
War Department survey monuments marked the
property and the right of way to Hollis Street.
