The Fretin marshes rehabilitated as a promenade
The Fretin marshes are more designed for walking than for bird watching, as is the case with the nearby Marsh Marshes. However, you can discover many aquatic birds and stop at the Martin Pêcheur observation point: Gray Heron, Great Crested Grebe, Chevalier Guignette, Morillon, Foulque and Martin Pêcheur particularly appreciate the environment of the Marshes. In fine weather, you can even spot Flemish red cows, one of the oldest and most typical breeds in our northern region. Their use in eco-pasture allows the maintenance of natural spaces in perfect harmony with protected sites.
