This is a strange church, part of the original building in back, and the tower is huge. They do not want anyone up there...and today they ring the bells electronically (nothing is safe from electronics anymore) from a small room off the entrance lobby.
I got to see them, and the bells were small than I expected, considering the time frame.

"This Methodist Episcopal Church was founded in Elsberry in September 1879. An earlier church building was built on the same site as this church in 1881. This church building was built in 1897 replacing the smaller earlier church." ~ Virtual Globetrotting
