The Goese tower has had many functions since its construction. In addition to radio, television and telephone, the tower has also been used for mobile phones, ANWB and RIVM, among others. Due to the changing techniques, many functions have now been dropped.
The television tower was sold in December 2006 (as part of the sale of 23 high transmission towers) to the French transmission specialist company TDF S.A [source?]. KPN thus complies with the requirement set by the Dutch Competition Authority (NMa) when KPN took over Nozema. At the time, KPN indicated that it did not regard ownership of the transmission masts as a core activity. The KPN transmission equipment for telephony, data, radio and television connections will remain in the towers. KPN has concluded a ten-year lease with TDF for this. The management of the towers, which had been transferred by KPN to NOVEC in March 2006, will also be transferred to TDF, including five KPN employees.
On February 22, 2007 the old mast in Goes was removed in four parts, on February 23 there were again two flights. During the first flight the cables were brought up, during the second flight the new white top was placed. Since the new top is only 9 meters high (the old was 20 meters), the masted television tower is now 137 meters high (previously it was 153 meters).
