The Walkerston Cemetery was established in 1885 and is one of the main monumental cemeteries for the Mackay area. The front half of the cemetery is divided into four sections - Anglican, Catholic, Presbyterian and Lutheran. The Cemetery has two columbarium walls for ashes interments or memorial niches and is the only cemetery where vaults can be constructed.
