Het beeldhouwwerk werd gemaakt in opdracht van Hertel B.V., ter gelegenheid van het 100-jarig bestaan van het bedrijf. Het staat langs de Welplaatweg in het Rotterdamse industriegebied Botlek.
De beeldhouwster is een vrij bekend Nederlands kunstenares. Bekendere werken van haar hand zijn sculpturen van Johan Cruijff en Pim Fortuyn.

The sculpture was commissioned by Hertel B.V., on the occasion of the company's 100th anniversary. It is located along the Welplaatweg in the Rotterdam industrial area of Botlek.
The sculptor is a fairly well-known Dutch artist. More famous pieces by her are sculptures of Johan Cruijff and Pim Fortuyn.
