Sao Roque or Saint Roch was the patron saint of dogs. This wooden sculpture of him is located in the Afro-Brazilian museum in Sao Paulo's Iberapuera Park. It depicts him standing, wearing a hooded cloak and with a staff on one side and a dog on the other. The dog has something in its mouth.
