The charming girl Vanda (Vera Ferbasová), has problems in every job because of her beauty. That's why she disguises herself as an ugly stenographer. However, an even more serious thing happens to her - she is considered the daughter of the rich Czech-American Ruth. The police will detain her not only as a runaway daughter from a wealthy family, but also as a thief of the money entrusted to her. Robbers intending to demand a ransom will seize her. Proto se prevlece za nevzhlednou šilhavou stenotypistku a nastoupí u mladého továrníka (J.Dohnal), jako Anci Hadrabová. Prihodí se jí ovšem ješte vážnejší vec - je považovaná za dceru bohatého cecho-americana Ruth.
